I’ve hit the life lottery more times than I can count. Somehow I’ve gone from being a classical violinist as a kid studying with one of the greatest teachers of all time at Juilliard to a session musician playing on multiple gold and platinum records to a fiddle player touring the world most notably with a country music act lucky enough to have one of the biggest songs of all time in the genre. That, along with 13 Grammy nominations (1 win, thank you very much) and the opportunity to play everything from Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve to the Tonight Show to American Idol and everything in between…. got me to ESPN? Long story.
A passion podcast project where I had athletes talk about music and musicians talk about sports turned in to an ESPN career that allowed me to be one of the original anchors for SportsCenter on Snapchat, help launch the entire livestream division of ESPN and be on national radio every single weekday for several years.
Now, a new chapter has begun and I couldn’t be more excited. Yahoo! Sports has given me the opportunity to bring my voice, energy and style to their livestream content where I can’t wait to continue to mesh my worlds of sports and music together and - most importantly - get to hang out with y’all.
Every job I’ve ever had has been fan supported. That’s never lost on me. Thank you for everything you’ve given me and for stopping by. I hope you’ll consider joining me again for this new journey.
Love y’all - Fitz
